On homecoming night at Sunnyside, the Blue Devils cruised to
a victory over the Cougars (2-4) with a strong showing in
the second half, moving to 5-0 on the season.
• Highlight reel: Sahuaro's only touchdown came on a 65-yard
run by junior QB Kevin Ackerly. He finished with 196 yards
rushing.
• Player of the game: Sunnyside QB Perry Shazier had
touchdown runs of 16 and 45 yards, finishing with 116 on the
ground and 97 through the air.
• By the numbers: 17. Passing yards the Blue Devils defense
allowed. Sunnyside also had three interceptions.
• He said it: "We played a much-better second half. Our guys
have to learn how to play a complete 48 minutes of
